How to commission
Commissioning a guitar, means you get to define the sound, look and feel of your instrument. Crafting it by hand means William gets to ensure it is built to the highest possible standard.
How it works:
For each of our 5 models, there are various options you can choose from and can go with the option of a crate top OR not.
Once you know which shape/model you are after, you can decide on the following.
- If you have a wooden crate of your own, we might be able to work with it, so do not hesitate to contact us and discuss that option.
- If not, you can inquire about a specific style like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Jack Daniels, Winchester or any other brands you can think of and we will do our best to source a vintage crate if we don't already have one.
Once we are set on a crate, we can go over pictures of past builds, and get some details on what you'd want the top to look like overall.
Any pickup configuration is possible on our crate top guitars, so just make up your mind and let us know what you want. Depending on what you are looking for, note that their might be an up-charge (Ex: a 3rd Humbucker in the middle position)
Choosing your fret wire is possible, depending on your playing style you will most likely have different requirement. So you can choose from Std, Medium Jumbo or Jumbo fret wire.
We can also use Stainless steel if that is what you want, there will be an up-charge for that option.
We usually go for a pretty Std C shape, medium size neck, but if you would like something more specific to your taste, please inquire.
Aged Chrome and Nickel are our Std, Gold is available as well, there will be an up-charge for that option.
The Quote, Payment and Delivery:
Once we have decided on the specs and we have given you a quote (incl. VAT if in the UK, though for any guitar sold abroad there will be NO VAT to pay from us, but be aware that you might have to pay "import duty" in your country when the instrument is delivered), we will need a 50% non-refundable deposit for the commission to start.
Depending on our current order back log and your actual requirements, we will give you an estimated completion date, and will keep you updated as it is being built.
When the guitar is ready, we will require you to pay the remaining balance, and will arrange for delivery.
We offer free insured shipping for the UK.
We are happy to ship to other countries but you will be responsible for the shipping fees. Please contact us to discuss the costs and options available.
